I like to task myself with personal projects in hopes of becoming a better designer. Knowing we'd be taking a trip to New York in April, I wanted to do something TX meets NY themed. I started with a quick sketched down brainstorm (as seen above) and then started sketching things out.
This is what the sketches look like before I begin building them in illustrator.
As I went along, more images came to mind. I was going to only make three illustrations, but I kept going and made it to six! This was such a fun challenge. I hope y'all enjoy the illustrations! TO SKETCH AND BEYOND!
It's hard convincing a client that a sketch can become even more than what it is at its most simple state. I'm hoping to have this blog be a place of process to show how a project can transform from sketch to final and beyond.
